How to make a Zig-Zag bracelet with wire and beads?

Discover how to make a Shamballa zig-zag bracelet. This is a technique to create bracelets with jade wire and round beads. We used resin beads and golden brass beads, but you can do the same thing with gemstone beads. However, you have to be careful that the wires you are going to string the beads on are thin enough to fit through the hole in the beads. For example, you can string the beads on 0.5 mm Linhasita wire if the hole in your beads is 0.7 mm and make all the knots and zig-zags with thicker jade wire. The beads in the variation section at the bottom of the page are in this case. Make sure the material you choose is compatible.

Here's a tip to make it easier to thread the beads without a needle: Quickly pass the flame of a lighter over the end of the synthetic thread so that the plastic melts and the end of the thread hardens. This does not work on natural threads such as cotton or silk or on lurex. These turn to ash. For those, wrap a small piece of tape around the end.

In this easy macrame bracelet tutorial, we used a manila clasp. It's a very pretty clasp, but it's not very quick to open and close without help. You can also make this bracelet with a macramé slip knot to make it easier to put on and take off the bracelet. To do this, instead of making a lark's knot at the beginning, simply tie the wires together with a 1 cm macramé overhand knot. Do this at the end as well. Then, you will cross the 2 remaining threads and make a 2 cm macramé overhand knot with a new piece of thread to create the slip knot. Feel free to watch our video on the subject if you do not know this technique.
