How to make an adjustable bracelet with heishi?
Making a bracelet with a sliding knot is very easy. You will need either micro-macramé wire or braided nylon wire. Make sure that the diameter of your thread can fit through the hole of the beads you have chosen. Natural threads can also work, but be aware that they wear out faster because of the friction of the knot.
This tutorial shows you 3 matching bracelets that you can also wear alone. The beads used are ceramic heishi, golden washers and various other metal beads. All the products come from Greece.

For a 18.5 cm hand, cut 33 cm of wire. Thread all the beads and center them on the wire with a ruler. Test the bracelet on your wrist. There should be some space left for the slip knot. Make a simple knot on each side of the beads to hold them in place.
On each piece of wire, thread a gold metal bead and then make a simple knot to prevent it from falling off. You will come back to this step and adjust the length of the wire ends and the position of the knots once the slip knot is made. You can then test it more easily on your wrist.
Cut 17 cm of thread and tie it on the two pieces of thread that you have crossed as in the photo of the previous step.
Make an alternating overhand knot: first pass the left-hand thread under the two ends of the bracelet, then pass the right-hand thread under the left-hand thread, over the two ends of the thread and through the loop formed by the left-hand thread. Tighten.
Repeat step 4, reversing the position of the wires. This time the right-hand thread goes underneath and the left-hand thread above. Then repeat step 4 and 5 again to get 4 flat knots.
Cut the excess thread a few millimetres from the last knot and then melt it with a lighter, being careful not to damage your creation. The melted part must stick to the knot to hold properly. If not, use glue.
As explained in step 2, try on the bracelet and adjust the length of the wire ends to your hand, without tightening it too much.
