Here's a tutorial that smells like vacation and the beach! Whether you are a beginner or an expert in jewellery making, this tutorial will delight you with its simplicity while allowing you to enjoy a relaxing fifteen minute bead stringing session.
This necklace is made with nylon thread or fishing line, dyed Agate semi-precious stone beads , golden tube beads and a mother of pearl medallion with a golden filigree starfish. The dyed Agates and the mother-of-pearl pendant come in different versions so you can customize your necklace. You can also use other 3mm stone beads instead of agates.
The clasp is connected to the wire thanks to a fastening made with pearls to crush. Find here a video and a technical sheet on theuse of crushable pearls. You should know that it is better to use a crush bead pliers rather than a flat pliers to make a nicer finish. If you flatten the crush bead with a flat plier, you will need to use larger crush bead covers than those listed in the materials list at the bottom of the page.

Cut about 70 cm of nylon thread. Thread a squeeze bead, pass the thread through the clasp ring and back into the squeeze bead. Keep 10 cm of the thread and flatten the pearl with the second notch of the crush pearl pliers and fold it in 2 with the first notch. Then place the pearl cover to be crushed on top and close it with the first tip of the pliers.
String 10 sand coloured Agate beads, 1 gold tube, 10 orange Agate beads, 1 gold tube 5 times and finish with 10 sand Agate beads. Pass the remaining thread through the beads to hide it. Thread a squeeze bead, pass through the other ring of the clasp and back into the squeeze bead. Thread the piece of wire through a few beads and tighten. Check that the necklace fits properly and that there are no gaps in any areas before crushing the bead as in step 1. Cut off the excess wire and your necklace is ready!
