Tutorial: making Miyuki Délicas 11/0 bead earrings
In this rather long period of the year, which has the advantage of leaving you plenty of time to create... we've come up with a few little tutorials to help you make pretty little pieces of jewelry with what you've got on hand.
We've got bead-makers in mind, whose Miyuki beads are surely wriggling in the boxes at the thought of being released. That's why Perles et crapules has put together a tutorial for you to make a pair of geometric earrings from Miyuki Délicas 11/0 beads, in a variety of colors! In this period of confinement, we're reinventing this pretty tuto with the colors we have at home.
Thread, needle, a few beads from the cupboard and off we go! We're counting on you to show us the results of your creations on our social networks ;)
The steps :
Step 1: Cut approximately 115 cm of thread. Weave the first two rows of the top section using the peyote technique. Please refer to the technical data sheet: How to make a Peyote increase and decrease?
Start at the bottom. You'll then need to make a decrease for the second row, and so on.
Leave about 40cm of yarn aside for the second part of the weaving.
Step 2: Continue in this way all the way to the tip to complete the weave.

Step 3: Once the weaving is complete, weave the last row in double brickstitck. The row starts to increase. Take a look at this data sheet: How do I make a brickstitch weave with augmentation and diminution?
String 4 beads and pass twice to ensure correct placement. Finish with augmentation.

Step 4: Pass back through the weave to exit in the middle (as shown in the photo) and make the bangs. Thread 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 beads respectively onto the bangs to obtain the desired pattern. Finish this part by hiding the threads inside the weave, then cut the threads flush.

Step 5: Now form the bead loop to connect the weave to the ear hook. Thread 4 blue beads onto the hook. Thread through the second bead. Pass through the loop a second time for added strength. Finally, hide the thread in the weave and cut flush.

Your pair of earrings is now complete! What do you think of them?
