How to engrave a jewel yourself ?

If you dream of having a personalized ring with a first name, you're in the right place! Accessible to beginners, discover how to make a personalized jewel!

In the first part of the video, we explain how to make a ring engraving using ImpressArt punches. Metal engraving allows you to make a personalized jewel, here a ring with a first name or initials. This is a great gift idea for men or women.

In the second part of the video, we show you different ways to shape rings. The first technique is the most classic and the most used by jewelers: the forging triboulet. The triboulet is an indispensable tool in jewelry making. Its conical shape makes it possible to form rings of various sizes. To be used with a wooden mallet, to avoid marking the metal.

The second technique is accessible to everyone: a special pliers to form rings. Very easy to use, you will shape the ring in two minutes. Very practical for people who do not want to invest in a lot of material. A pair of pliers, a ring to shape and that's it.

In the last part of the video, we show you the steps to get the shiny side of the ring: emery and polishing. Emerging is a very important step, you must not neglect it, it is at this time that you will remove all marks that could have been left by the tools.
As for example the traces of pliers or mallet. You can use emery wheels or abrasive discs ( spider brushes on a rod). For polishing, use Lustre Bar polishing paste, which is ideal for a mirror finish. It removes all light scratches.
