To attach the stone to a pendant, you can crimp it with macrame wire , glue it to a stand , wrap a metal wire, or you can hang it on a bail. In this case, you may need to drill the stone.

Be careful however with the hardness of your stone (Mohs scale). Depending on the variety, it will be more or less hard, and therefore more or less fragile. It will react differently during piercing. To know everything about natural stones , do not hesitate to consult our practical sheet.
Step 1: Attach your diamond drill bit to the Dremel. (0:14)
Step 2: Mark the location of the hole on the gemstone. (0:23)
Step 3: Set your dremel speed to 1 first. (0:33)
Step 4: Make a pre-hole before drilling. (0:39)
Step 5: You can start drilling. (0:46)
So that the stone does not heat up during drilling, it must be permanently immersed in water. Be careful when drilling, only the diamond drill must be in contact with water. The dremel must not touch the water.
Step 6: Once the hole is well made, you can increase the speed of your dremel to 5. (1:02)
Hold the stone firmly and watch your fingers.
It is very important to take your time and take breaks. Go gradually without pressing too hard.
Step 7: There you have it, your gemstone is pierced !! Now all you have to do is add a pendant clip to hang it from a necklace chain. (1:21)

In order to prevent the stone from heating up during drilling, it must be permanently immersed in water. When drilling, only the diamond drill bit should be in contact with the water. The dremel must not touch the water.
Once the hole is well made, you can increase the speed of your dremel to 5. (1:02)
Hold the stone firmly and be careful with your fingers.
It is very important to take your time and take breaks. Take it slowly but don't press too hard.
That's it, your gemstone is pierced ! Now you just have to add a pendant attachment to hang it on a necklace chain. (1:21)
