Gold embroidery uses gold and silver threads to create refined patterns, often found on religious or haute couture garments. To realize this technique, you'll need specific supplies such as cannetille and jaseron, each material having distinct properties: cannetille is supple and delicate, while jaseron is rigid and ideal for outlines. Choose the right thread for the effect you want to achieve with your creations.
What is gold embroidery? Gold embroidery is a needlework technique generally using gold and silver threads. In the past, this embroidery was used on religious, military and royal garments. Today, it's more commonly used in art, haute couture and small accessories. This embroidery technique requires specific materials.
Optional: twill ribbon to cover your embroidery drum if your organza slips or snags.
You'll need cannetille and jaseron.
Jaseron is thicker than cannetille and much less flexible. It too is twisted, but harder. When handled, it retains the shape you give it, unlike canetille. Jaseron is generally used to outline your pattern.

In embroidery, a cannetille is a hollow tube of gold or silver (now available in all colors) made by winding a metal thread around a needle to form a very flexible spring. The use of this spring is very delicate and meticulous. There are different types of cannetille and different finishes:
Simply cut the cannetille into several pieces and thread them onto a thread like a bead. We recommend that you cut your cannetille delicately with scissors.
