Pass the thread through the hole in the knot cover. Make a simple knot with the wire.
Note: If you are using a crush bead, you will need to place it after the knot cover.

The knot covers are essential in the creation of costume jewelry DIY. They are very practical to finish a necklace for example, while having a nice finish. They allow you to hide a knot or a pearl to crush. It is the aesthetic and professional touch to your creation.
There are different types of knot covers:
The question is, how to close a knot cover? This is what we suggest you discover in our practical sheet. You can also find these knot covers in this video tutorial to get a better idea: Tuto Natural shell necklace with gold beads and moonstone heishi.
You will need a wire, a cord, a cable or a chain (in our example, we used 1 mm purple waxed cotton ), a knot cover of the same color and material as your clasp, some jewelry glue and a flat pliers. Prefer a pair of pliers with a nylon tip so as not to mark the knot cover.
Follow the steps below to practice making pretty finishes with a knot cover.

Pass the thread through the hole in the knot cover. Make a simple knot with the wire.
Note: If you are using a crush bead, you will need to place it after the knot cover.

Trim the excess yarn at the edge of the knot.

Place the knot or bead to be crushed in the shell of the knot cover.

Put glue on the bow or inside the bow cover to make sure your creation will not come apart over time.

Close the node cover on the node with the nylon end clip (be careful not to flatten the node cover).

Here is the result!!! Don't forget to do the same thing on the other side of your creation.
You can now connect your design to a clasp by placing a ring in the two rings of the bow cover.
