The metallized look created by the mica particles in Fimo clay will add shine to your DIY creations. Metallized polymer is the ideal paste for creating beautiful DIY jewelry using the mica shift technique.
Do you know the mica shift technique? It's all about creating a false semblance of texture while the Fimo surface remains smooth, as in this hanging earrings tutorial or this women's necklace. This fascinating effect, known as the ghost effect, gives an impression of depth. The illusion of contrast is created by the shine of the mica particles.
This effect is achieved with a texture plate or by hammering the Fimo clay, as in our additional photo.
How to use Fimo?
1) Work on a tiled plate or silicone mat.
2) Knead the polymer clay by hand, roller or machine.
