This Cernit Opaline Blanc polymer clay has the particularity of allowing light to pass through slightly, giving it a very attractive ceramic effect.
Also available in 500g and 250g, as well as in a range of trendy colors.
The colors in this semi-opaque Cernit range will all darken after firing, unless you use the opaque white color as a clay base.
Be careful not to use these colors to make ducks, as the colors in contact with each other will change completely. For this technique, use the number one range.
What is Cernit polymer clay?
Cernit clay is a soft, malleable polymer clay that hardens after baking.
The clay is used to make beads, cabochons and other shapes for costume jewelry, decorative objects and figurines.
Firing Cernit polymer clay :
1. Cut a piece of Cernit clay, condition it gently to make it soft and moldable, either by hand or by running it several times through the clay machine, which will also mix all the color pigments well. Always work the clay with clean hands or gloves on a clean surface.
2. Preheat your electric oven to between 110°C and 130°C / 230°F and 266°F. Do not use a microwave oven.
3. Bake for 30 minutes.
4. Once baked, your Cernit clay creations will be solid yet flexible. If you haven't made your pieces too thick, you'll still be able to work with them: sculpting, sanding, painting,.... Cernit clay is the shiniest clay after sanding.
Less well-known than Fimo clay, Cernit has many advantages.
It doesn't stick to your fingers, doesn't stain and is odorless.
