What is an ex-voto heart? An ex-voto is a symbol of faith and gratitude. It is used to give thanks for the fulfillment of a wish or the granting of a grace. Very common in Mexico, heart ex-votos are hung on house walls, in churches or in shops to serve as good-luck charms.
How to make beaded jewelry?
Add your heart bead to a lucky bracelet inspired by a Mexican ex-voto heart. To do this, you'll need a jewelry nail. Make sure the head of the stud doesn't go through the hole in the earring.
Make a gri-gri bracelet: mix the beads of your choice on an elastic thread (Heishi rondelle beads, gemstone beads, mother-of-pearl beads...) with your heart bead. Finish with a surgeon's knot and you're done!
