Why stainless steel jewelry?
A good alternative to silver, stainless steel is resistant and durable - it won't erode or scratch. It's an alloy of iron, carbon, nickel and chromium. Although stainless steel contains nickel particles, these are locked in the alloy and cannot be released. This is why stainless steel is an anti-allergenic metal that does not irritate the skin.

Nickel-free Released

This stainless steel product complies with REACH regulations. Although it contains nickel due to its composition, this is not released. Regulations are strict for jewellery. The European Nickel Directive (94/27/EC in its latest version of 27 September 2004) requires that the nickel release rate be 0.5 micrograms per cm² (of the surface area of the item) per week for items in direct and prolonged contact with the skin.

This migration limit is lowered to 0.2 µg/cm²/week for piercings. Our stainless steel products comply with REACH regulations, which means that although this alloy contains nickel, it is not released in sufficient quantities to trigger an allergic reaction, even after several weeks or months of use. Contrary to what is sometimes claimed, nickel is not suddenly released after a certain period of use. Stainless steel is an alloy whose structure prevents the release of this metal in large quantities, even if the jewellery ages or its plating wears away. Tests carried out on stainless steels that comply with REACH standards show that these thresholds are not exceeded in the long term.

Que veut dire "nickel libéré : non" ? Peut-on mettre ces perles en contact avec la peau sans risque ?

Bonjour, ce produit en acier inox est conforme à la réglementation REACH. Bien qu'il contienne du nickel en raison de sa composition, celui-ci n'est pas libéré.
La réglementation est stricte pour la bijouterie. La directive Européenne sur le nickel (94/27/CE dans sa dernière version du 27 septembre 2004) exige que le taux de libération du nickel soit de 0.5 microgramme par cm2 (de surface de la pièce) et par semaine pour les articles en contact direct et prolongé avec la peau. Cette limite de migraion est abaissée à 0.2 µg/cm²/semaine pour les « piercing ».

Nos produits en acier inoxydable sont conformes à la réglementation REACH, ce qui signifie que bien que cet alliage contienne du nickel, celui-ci n’est pas libéré en quantité suffisante pour déclencher une réaction allergique, même après plusieurs semaines ou mois d’utilisation. Vous pouvez donc utiliser ces perles sans problème.
