Round pendant in 925 Sterling Silver (92,5% silver) set with a gemstone.
Please note that this 16 mm fine stone is flat.

Black onyx stone is not originally black. It is treated by being immersed in a solution of black sugar and acid. The soft, porous nature of the stone allows the solution to soak in. After immersion, the stone is then heated. This is a common process that makes the colour deeper and longer lasting.
