Print out the bird design using this template and cut it out.

Using an erasable felt-tip pen, redraw the outline of the various parts on your suedecloth. Stretch your suedette over your drum.

The most difficult stage is laying the jaseron, as you'll need to impose curves or angles on it. The jaseron is a metal thread that works like a spring. You can therefore stretch it slightly so that your embroidery thread passes more easily between the rings. Always embroider crosswise, following the direction of the rings.

Don't hesitate to use the tip of a pair of scissors to "shape" your jaseron.

Here's the jaseron being "modelled"!

Place the 15/0 seed beads and Delicas pearls as shown in the photo below. Finally, when you reach the eye mark, thread a Copper plated bead and embroider it flat.

We're now going to lay the curly cannetille. Cut several pieces of cannetille of the same length beforehand.

Embroider the cannetille starting from the center of the surface to be filled. This will give your chips a more random layout.

This is what it looks like after embroidering all the cannetille in the center of the bird!

For the wings, cut pieces of blue zircon and light green cannetilles to the same length. Cut them again if necessary. Embroider, alternating one blue and one light green. Finish the edge of the wing by embroidering a few 15/0 seed beads.

Cut pieces of green cannetille the same length as the other cannetilles, then start embroidering as shown in the photo.

Then embroider new rows of blue piping, alternating a blue zircon strand with a light green strand.

To finish the wing, cut a few 3mm strands of green cannetille and embroider them on the wing. Finish the beak with a few strands of blue cannetille.

Finally, remove the drum and cut the suedette to within 3 mm of the edge of your bird. Cut a second piece of suedette of the same size and sew a pin holder. Glue the 2 pieces together with clear fabric glue and leave to dry.
