In this tutorial, you'll assemble a decorative grigri composed of turquoise silk ribbon, evoking the crystalline waters of the most beautiful beaches, pearly and glittery shell pendants, golden jellyfish, and fancy beads, including an adorable red glass fish bead. These elements blend with refined gold details for a result that's bright, cheerful and full of character.
This grigri is mounted on a large gold ring with snap hook, so it's easy to attach wherever you like: handbag, wicker basket, pencil case, or even set of keys. It also makes a lovely handmade gift, customizable as you like.
Primers and pendants are made of gold-plated stainless steel, ideal for summer jewelry and accessories. Resistant to water, oxidation and discoloration, it guarantees excellent durability, even when exposed to humidity or sunlight. Beaded grigri
Cut 21 cm of nylon thread (more or less depending on the desired effect), then string the beads, alternating imitation freshwater pearls and rondelle beads at random, inserting the glass fish bead in the center.
Here's our threading for this model:
1 freshwater bead / 2 rondelle beads / 3 freshwater beads / 3 rondelle beads / 2 freshwater beads / fish bead / 3 freshwater beads / 3 rondelle beads / 2 freshwater beads / 2 rondelle beads / 2 freshwater beads.
Slip one end of the wire into a Crimp bead, pass the wire through the first 3 beads and then add your Lobster Clasp.
Using a pair of Crimp beads pliers, crush the bead after ironing the nylon thread inside, to secure your clasp.
Place a crushable bead cover around the crushed bead and close it gently with flat-nose pliers for a more polished finish.
Repeat steps 2 to 4 on the other side. Remember to cut off the excess thread on both sides.
Silk ribbon
Thread the turquoise silk ribbon through the key ring, fold it over and secure with a 7x6 mm gold tube bead. Adjust the length of the ribbon to achieve the desired effect, then cut the ends at an angle for a clean, elegant finish.
Shell charms
Open a ring, insert the two shell pendants (ref. NA-559 and ARZ-564), placing the blue glitter shell (ARZ-564) in front of the mother-of-pearl one. Thread through the keyring, then close the ring.
The other charms
Attach the gold jellyfish directly to the open ring of the 16 mm spring clasp, then close.
Attach the acetate heart pendant with an open ring.
Add the 22x20 mm shell pendant with imitation mother-of-pearl cabochon directly to the key ring.
You can add a 27.5x24 mm manila clasp to make it easier to hang your grigri.
Your bag grigri is finished! All that's left to do is attach it to your bag, basket or pencil case, and enjoy your charming summer creation.
