On January 1, 2025, the works of Henri Matisse entered the public domain in Europe. Famous for his colorful cut-outs and abstract forms, Matisse left a strong imprint on art and design. Whenever a great artist enters the public domain, his influence resurfaces in fashion and decoration. This year, stylized birds are a real trend, alongside seaweed-inspired shapes and coral pendants, echoing Matisse's artistic universe. Our new acetate bird pendants, with their clean, graphic lines, are inspired by this trend.
We offer them in three sizes: 49x36 mm to create large, colorful earrings, 15x10 mm to use as charms on bracelets, necklaces or mini earrings, or an intermediate size of 35x25 mm. To make the large bird earrings, open the longest part of the ring welded to the earring by rotating it with flat-nose pliers. Open it just enough to slide in the pendant.
Close by rotating the end of the ring again. It doesn't matter if there's a small gap between the two ends, as the pendant will no longer protrude from the ring.
To make the mini bird creoles, flatten the raised end of the creole with the flat-nosed pliers so that you can slide the bird inside. See the place pointed by the bird's wing at the top of the photo. Once you've passed the charm over the creole, replace the small closing end with the flat pliers.
