How to weave pearls into a pendant?

This tutorial shows you how to weave beads into these gold-plated stainless steel pendants. They have lots of little holes through which we can attach beads using the brick stitch technique. On this model, we've used Miyuki seed beads and delica beads, as well as small faceted glass beads. There's no pattern for this tutorial, as this is a rather free weave. You'll have to judge whether the beads need to be spread apart or brought closer together as you weave. The video does give you a few pointers at the beginning. That's why this tutorial is marked as expert level. We advise against making these earrings if this is your first time weaving pearls into earrings.

This technique can be adapted to other colors and types of beads. If you change beads, you may need to experiment to find the best combination for your project. A word of advice: avoid choosing pearls larger than 4 mm, as they will be out of proportion with the thinness of the pendants. Also, avoid larger delicas, as their cylindrical shape is not well suited to this type of weaving, and larger tubular beads may be difficult to integrate.

NB: Pendants have one smooth side and one with relief. They are not double-sided, so you can't flip them over to get symmetrical earrings. Both earrings will have an oval shape oriented in the same direction. Although it's not really noticeable once the earrings have been woven, the oval shape of the pendant is slightly organic and not symmetrical.
