Cut 1 meter of linhasita thread. Then tie a double knot
With the release of the Barbie movie on the big screen, the Barbiecore trend is emerging all over social networks and catwalks. The Barbiecore look is very simple: pink, pink and more pink. And we love it! You can go for a total Barbie Pink look for a girly style, or use small touches to boost your look. That's what we suggest in this DIY tutorial with this pink necklace. Lightweight and comfortable to wear, resin pearls are the perfect beads to make a pearl necklace. You'll find a wide choice of opaque and transparent beads on our site, so it's up to you to choose your color. For the thread, we've opted for 1 mm Linhasita, a strong and resistant thread.
If you're a beginner in costume jewelry making, this tutorial is for you. The small "difficulty" is to tighten the knots correctly between each bead. À By hand, it's not always easy to position the knot perfectly against the bead; the knot is often too far apart, so you have to undo the knot and start again. This is rather discouraging when you're just starting out in jewelry making. In this video, we'll show you different techniques for tying knots right the first time.
Knots between beads are not only aesthetically pleasing, they also offer extra protection by preventing the beads from rubbing against each other and damaging each other.
3 tips for knotting beads:
- use a bead awl.
- use a Beadalon knotting tool.
- use a toothpick or needle if you don't have any tools to hand.

Cut 1 meter of linhasita thread. Then tie a double knot
Thread the first bead onto the wire, looping the wire around your thumb, passing the wire back and forth to form a loose loop. Pass the free end of the wire through the loop. Insert the bead awl (or a needle or toothpick) and gently squeeze to create a tight single bead knot.
Tie another knot on the 1st knot. By making a double knot, the neon pink thread will be clearly visible on the necklace.
Continue threading the beads onto the wire, creating a double knot between each bead. Either using a bead awl or Beeadalon's knotting tool.
To finish the necklace, use lace clips and add a clasp and closed ring.
