You often ask us how to make your own ear hooks. Here is a tool that will help you create ear hooks and other shapes out of copper wire. This is just one of many tools. Here are some other ways to make ear hooks: How to make earring hooks?
With this tool, you can also make half circles, rectangles, spacers and hook clasps. It's a kind of template that helps you form different shapes. You can screw it on a workbench or a wooden board so you can use both hands to form the wire. With this accessory, we suggest you make this pair of minimalist earrings.
The twisted wire comes from a set of 6 copper wires composed of gold and silver wires. 2 wires are twisted, 2 wires are square and 2 wires are flat. You can also use gold filled instead of copper wire. See the different possibilities in the variations section at the bottom of the page.
Attention, if you create your own ear hooks: When you cut the wire, it is sharp and can hurt the ear hole. You need to sand the end of the wire with a wire rounder. The tool suggested for this is an electric bead reamer to which you can add a wire rounder tip. It is very easy to use. A bead reamer allows you to sand the inside of the bead hole if it is clogged or if there are rough spots that catch the wire inside the bead.
