How to make a gold filled - laminated gold - semainier ring?

How to make a gold filled ring ?

The holidays will soon be here! It's time to imagine and create jewelry to give as a gift or that will enhance our most beautiful outfit on the big day. In our new "Starry Treasure" jewelry collection, we combine precious gold and shimmering mother-of-pearl to create sober, feminine and elegant jewelry.

With few tools, you can make a gold filled ring and a mother of pearl clover. A nice piece of jewelry but with a deliberate destroy style to give it a glam rock look. The more you wear it, the more the rings will deform to fit perfectly the shape of your finger.

The little plus of this ring: it can be worn as you want! The buckle can be worn on the front or the back of the finger. And if you don't want to wear them in accumulation on one finger, you can slip one on one finger or spread them on the other fingers of the hand. The choice is yours!

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Gold filled ring with mother of pearl pearls : Step 1

Take your finger size with a ring gauge. There are several ways to measure your finger size without a ring.
For example, with a tape measure, measure your finger size and read the value in millimeters.

For this DIY tuto, we made a size 54. We cut a piece of gold filled wire of 8 cm. (54 mm + 25mm to make the rings)

Make a ring with the help of a round pliers

Step 2

Shape the ring with the help of the metric triboulet.

The metric triboulet is a tool used to measure rings. Here, we divert the tool from its original purpose to obtain a well rounded ring. Since the wire is flexible, it can be shaped with the fingers.

The forging triboulet is normally the perfect tool for shaping and forging rings, if you don't have one, you can use a metric triboulet (without using a hammer).

Step 3

Slide on your mother-of-pearl bead and shape your ring.

Step 4

Insert the wire into the loop and then make a loop again to close your ring.

Step 5

Reshape your ring.
Do the same with the other 4 rings.

Merci
