This bead-weaving technique offers a similar result to spiral crochet, but eliminates the need for a hook. Everything is done with a needle, making this technique more accessible. In fact, you no longer need to master crochet to make beautiful pearl tube necklaces.

In her tutorial, Karole uses Miyuki seed beads size 15/0. You can also use other sizes and brands of seed beads, as long as they're regular. Be careful: changing the size of the beads will also change the size of the finished jewel, so the primers will no longer be compatible.

The necklace is woven in a spiral pattern, using the PeyTwist technique, a variation on peyote.
Follow the PeyTwist pattern, adding beads to create a spiral effect. This pattern consists of alternating pearls mounted in a staggered pattern, creating a twisted or spiral effect as the necklace takes shape.
If you're new to peytwist weaving, take a look at our peytwist weaving instruction sheet.
Once the desired length has been reached, finish the weave by securing the beads with several passes of thread in the last rows added.
Glue the weave into finishing end caps, then attach the clasp.
