The Russian spiral technique is a needle weaving technique to make beaded tubes with a spiral effect. You don't need to know how to crochet. It is a rather simple and accessible technique. You can use any kind of beads with this technique, but depending on the association of beads chosen, the result will be more or less loose. You can see a bit of the thread between the beads, so choose a suitable thread color. If your creation is very dark, use black thread. In any case, you must provide a rubber tube to insert into the beaded tube so that it keeps its tubular shape. If you don't put anything inside, the beaded tube will flatten.
In this tutorial, we chose to string the Russian spiral on a stainless steel bead ring. You can also make a bangle without a clasp by weaving a longer tube. In this case, you will have to adjust the number of bead bags. You need 49 to 50 faceted beads of 4 mm bohemian, per color, to make the tube of 14 cm needed for the model ring in photo. You will need at least one more bag of each color of beads. You will also need to glue a piece of paper rolled up in the two holes of the rubber tube to make them meet.
This haute-couture style bracelet will go perfectly with a chic black blazer. It will add a touch of originality to your work outfit or your evening ensemble. Want to change the colors of the bracelet? We suggest you start with quite distinct colors and mix the finishes. For example, choose transparent, pastel, ceramic and/or opaque beads.
Be careful for thin wrists, tighten the bracelet a little, because it widens with the passage of the tubes and may fall.
