What is gold embroidery?
How to embroider the bag?
Gold embroidery is on the rise right now! We discover this technique with Marion alias Lady Mustache who prepared us a tutorial for beginners : a bird brooch embroidered in cannetille and jasseron with some seed beads 15/0 and Miyuki Delicas 11/0 .
Like a real gem , this brooch will certainly delight the one who wears it! Here is an idea of ??an original gift for a birthday or for Christmas !
To discover the basic material to start embroidery gold and know the definition of cannetille and jaseron , we invite you to take a look at our technical sheet How to embroider with gold thread? in our toolbox.
Thank you Marion for sharing this tutorial.
Step 1 :
Print the drawing of the bird using this template and cut it out.
2nd step :
With an erasable felt pen , redraw the outline of the different parts on your suede . Stretch your suede on your drum.
Step 3:
The most difficult step is the pose of the jaseron , because you will have to impose curves or angles. The jaseron is a metal wire that works like a spring . So you can stretch it slightly so that your embroidery thread passes more easily between the rings. Always embroider crosswise , following the direction of the rings.
Feel free to use the tip of the pair of scissors to "model" your jaseron.
Step 4:
Place the 15/0 seed beads and the Delicas beads as shown in the picture below. Finally, when you get to the eye, put on a Copper plated bead that you embroider flat.
Step 5:
We are now going to put the curly lock . Cut out several pieces of duck from the same length.
Embroider the quill from the center of the surface to be filled. So your chips will have a more random layout.
Step 6:
For the wings, cut pieces of blue zircon and light green duck of the same length. You will cut them again if necessary. Embroider them alternating a blue and a light green. Finish the edge of the wing by embroidering some 15/0 rockeries.
Step 7:
Cut pieces of green duck of the same length as the other duckbells and start to embroider it as in the photo:
Step 8:
Then embroider new rows of blue cannet and alternate again a blue zircon strand and a light green strand.
To finish the wing, cut some 3mm strands of green duck and embroider them on the wing. Finish the beak with a few small strands of blue duck.
Finally, remove the drum and cut the suede 3 mm from the edge of your bird. Cut out a second piece of suedine of the same size and sew a pin stand . Glue the 2 pieces together with clear fabric glue and allow to dry.
Your brooch is finished, bravo!
