DIY Jewelry: make ethnic-style earrings with PureCrystal Buttercup cabochons from the Wanderlust Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Learn how to make pom-poms with our " 4 original ways to make pom-poms! " video. Combine the colors of PureCrystal cabochons with our selection of special pom-pom yarn spools.
Step 1:
Lightly pre-flatten two of the claws on one side of the setting. Place the oval cabochon against these prongs, adjusting the curvature of the prongs if necessary. Hold the cabochon in place and flatten the other two prongs of the setting.

Step 2:
Follow the video link at the beginning of this tutorial to make your pompom. Wrap beige and sand thread together around a card. Remove the loop from the card and knot the black thread in the center. Wrap the black thread around to make the large loop of the pom-pom. Knot the black thread, then the Burgundy thread, and join the two parts of the pom-pom together. Do not cut the Burgundy thread. Cut the beige and sand thread loops.

Step 3:
Once the burgundy thread has been wrapped around the pom-pom, thread it onto a needle using delicas 11/0 Glazed Pinneapple matte beads. Thread enough to go around the pom-pom. Work your way around and back through the first two beads. Thread the same number of beads to make the second row. Iron through all the beads in the second row. Tie a double knot and iron through a few beads before cutting the thread. Connect the pompom to the setting stud earrings with an open bronze ring.
