How to create pompom earrings in just a few minutes?

How to make your own cotton pompons?

Once a pompom, always a pompom!

Riva from the Darice blog shows us a nice little tutorial for creating your own pair of earrings with three pompons created from A to Z, one on top of the other. A pretty gradation of colors awaits you! In this case, skeins of embroidery thread are used, but you could just as easily use spools of imitation cotton thread if you're planning to make tons of pairs of earrings! We've just posted a video showing 4 ways to make pompons.

STEP 1

Cut 2 pieces of wire about the length of the skein.

STEP 2

Using one of the two pieces, tie a knot in the middle of the skein.

STEP 3

Fold the skein from the middle, where you've just made a knot with the thread.

STEP 4

Tie your second piece of yarn around the folded skein.

STEP 5

Cut to desired length. Then repeat steps 2 to 5 twice for each skein color (fushia, candy pink and light pink) for a total of 6 pom-poms.

STEP 6

Thread a piece of light pink thread onto your needle with a knot at the end of the thread, then pass the needle through the base of the fuchsia pompom, tying a knot at the first piece of thread tied (see step 2). Then pierce the candy-pink pompom and tie a new knot at its base, followed by the light-pink pompom at the end. Follow this order to achieve the color gradient.

STEP 7

Repeat for the other earring. Add the ear hook and tie a knot with the light pink thread under the back of the last pompom.

Your earrings are finished!
