Start by taking a needle about 1.2 m long.
String 3 pink beads and form a circle by ironing in all the beads. Leave a 15-20 cm tail.
Thread a pink bead between each pink bead, then iron in the first pink bead of the row.
String 2 red beads between each pink bead. At the end of the row, step out into the first duo of threaded reds.
For row 4: alternate 6 times between an 8/0 red Seed bead (R) and a 15/0 gold Seed bead (d) all around.
For row 5: add a red seed bead between each element of the previous row, treating Rd as a single bead. Tighten well.
Row 6: string 2 red beads, then 1 red and 1 gold, 2 red, then 1 red and 1 gold, alternating until the end of the row: RR / Rd / RR / Rd / RR / Rd. Tighten well, and emerge in the first of the first pair of threaded reds.
Row 7: add a red between each red of the previous row; consider Rd as a single bead and RR as two separate beads.
Thread a red bead between each bead of the previous row.
String 2 red beads, then 1 red and 1 gold until the end of the row: RR/R/Rd/RR/Rd/RR/Rd/Rd. Tighten well and pull out into the first of the first pair of threaded reds.
For row 10, add 1 red bead between each bead of the previous row; consider each Rd as a single bead and emerge in the gold.
For rows 11 and 12, add one red bead between each bead of the previous row.
For row 13, add a red bead between each bead of the previous row, and for row 14, follow the pattern below: R/d/R/d/R/d/R/d/R/d/R/d.
To make row 15, add a red bead between each red bead in the previous row, disregarding the gold ones. Then alternate R/d/R/d/R/d to make row 16. Tighten well.
Thread a pink bead between each red bead in the previous row, disregarding the gold ones. Pass the thread through the pink beads several times, pulling them tight.
To make the leaf, take the thread out of a pink bead. String 4 green beads, then pass through the second-to-last bead (i.e. the 3rd bead on the thread), pick up 2 beads and pass through the same pink bead, on the opposite side of the thread. Repeat, making 3 leaves. Then pass through the nearest red bead from the previous row and make 3 leaves again.
To make a flower on your bead cutter, position your needle where you want it; for example, on a red bead in row 13. Thread 4 white beads, 1 yellow bead and then work backwards through the 1st white bead of the thread to form a semi-circle. Tighten well.
Iron through all the white beads, then thread 3 white beads again to finish the flower. Pass through all the white beads to secure the petals.
Once the flower is complete, pass back through the beads and position your needle on one of the pink beads in row 17. Thread 18 small green Seed beads 11/0, then pass through the pink bead opposite. This creates a circular arc. Iron twice through the green beads to secure the bead.
Tie a knot, pass through several beads in a zigzag pattern, tie a final knot and cut the thread. Your burr is finished. Repeat all steps for a second burr.
