Tutorial steps

Step 1
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 1

Cut a piece of thread about 2 m long. Thread it onto a needle. If the thread is difficult to thread, flatten the end with flat-nosed pliers. Thread a turquoise Half Tila bead, the gold bead and another turquoise Half Tila bead. Place them 20cm from the end of the wire. You can use a small clothespin 20cm from the end of the thread to prevent the beads from falling off. Preferably, weave with the beads on the table to prevent them from spinning. Your weaving will be easier to visualize.

Step 2
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 2

Pass the needle through the second hole in the turquoise Half Tila bead. Thread a cream Half Tila bead. Thread through the second hole of the next turquoise Half Tila bead. Pass the needle all the way through the beads and tighten the thread, holding the thread end. Make a complete turn again, passing through the first hole in the turquoise Half Tila bead, the gold bead and the other turquoise Half Tila bead, then repeating the route through the beads in this step 2. Each time you add a new bead, you'll need to go back through the previous beads before continuing, to tighten the weave sufficiently as you go along.

Step 3
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 3

Once you've returned to the second hole in the bottom Half Tila bead, thread on a new turquoise bead. Place it as shown in the photo. This is the turquoise bead at the very bottom. Next, pass through the second hole of this turquoise bead, thread a cream bead, pass through the second hole of the cream bead threaded in step 2, thread another cream bead and a final turquoise bead. Tighten the weave. Pass through the first hole of the last turquoise bead threaded and back down into the bead set to begin a "tightening" turn. Pass back through the beads you just passed through at the beginning of this step to complete the full turn. Tighten.

Step 4
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 4

Thread a cream bead. Thread through the second hole of the next cream bead. Thread a caramel bead through the second hole of the next cream bead. Thread another cream bead. Pass through the previous beads as shown. Tighten and make another complete turn to tighten the weave.

Step 5
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 5

Once turned over in the bottom cream bead, pass through its second hole. Thread a caramel bead and pass through the next caramel bead. Thread a new caramel bead and pass through the next cream bead. Tighten and make another complete turn to tighten the weave as before.

Step 6
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 6

Thread a caramel bead. Thread through the second hole of the next caramel bead. Thread a turquoise bead through the second hole of the next caramel bead. Thread a new caramel bead through the second hole of the cream bead next to it. Tighten again. Continue weaving the bracelet, filling in the gaps as shown in the diagram.

Step 7
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 7

When the thread starts to shorten to just 15cm, tie a double knot to the thread already woven.

Step 8
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 8

Next, pass the needle back through the previous beads, but not as far as the border beads. Stay inside the weave and make one or two passes through the previous beads to hide and block the thread. Cut off the remaining thread.

Step 9
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 9

Cut a new 2m piece of thread. Wedge it into the weave, moving back through the beads, then return to where you left off, still moving through the beads. Pull on the thread to check that it's stuck. Continue weaving.

Step 10
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 10

To attach the bead to the point on the other side of the bracelet, pull out a bead before the edge bead.

Step 11
Half Tila Miyuki Beads Bracelet : Step 11

You can then weave through the second hole in the turquoise bead to secure the gold bead. Make a second turn through the last beads and the gold bead to secure the weave. Finally, tie a double knot and wedge the thread into the weave as in steps 7 and 8.

Merci
