To make the simplest version of the Love Apple earrings, you'll need a bow hook, 3 mm open hoops, 2 mm chain, ball head studs, beads caps and a red glass bead.
These Pomme d'Amour dangling ear rings are available in a multitude of beads. The technique is very simple: thread a bead onto a ball-head or flat-head stud. Form a loop on one side with round pliers. Connect it to a small piece of chain, itself connected to a heart stud or bow ear hook, and you're done!
To make these romantic, poetic earrings, I used red glass beads in the shape of an apple. I added leaf-shaped Beads caps and here's a pretty love-apple bead dangling from an earring. If you'd like to make other earrings in this style, you can take any bead, preferably 6 to 14 mm, with a hole smaller than the size of the ball of the ball head stud. Here, the stud has a 0.7 mm shank and a 1.9 mm ball. You can therefore use beads with a hole between 0.8 and 1.8 mm. If the hole is too big and the nail goes through the bead, you can add a golden Seed bead or other bead on the nail to reduce the size of the hole.
You could also imagine dangling earrings with round Murano beads. These handcrafted beads are a feast for the eyes! Or use natural stone beads, or pearly beads. These earrings are very easy to personalize!
I've made them in two versions: One version with bow ear hooks and no flowers, and another version with stainless steel heart studs and acetate flowers that look very much like mother-of-pearl flowers. The choice is yours. The material for the version with flowers is shown in the variation section of the product list and in the steps.

To make the simplest version of the Love Apple earrings, you'll need a bow hook, 3 mm open hoops, 2 mm chain, ball head studs, beads caps and a red glass bead.

Thread the bead onto the nail. Bend the nail at right angles to the bead hole. Recut the nail to within 8 mm of the bead hole. Grab the end with round-nose pliers and form a loop.
Cut 2 pieces of 3.5 cm chain. Connect the stud and its bead to the chain. Connect the chain to the ear hook with a 3 mm ring. Do the same for the second loop to complete the pair.

For the flower version, I've used heart nails instead of hooks. In addition to the materials for the first version, you'll need the flowers, wire (copper or steel, depending on your preference) and Seed beads to make the flower hearts. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make the earring base.
Cut 5 cm of wire and fold in half. Thread the Seed beads, then pass both ends of the wire through the heart of the flower. Pass one end of the wire through a link in the chain where you wish to add the flower. Grab both ends with the pliers. Hold the heart of the flower in place with your other hand. Twist the two wire ends to twist them together. After a few turns, recut the thread ends. Repeat this step for all the flowers.
