Start by creating your charms using the various beads and round-headed nails. Mix the beads as you like, but you can also use the photo as a guide. For the fish beads (not in the photo), use the flat-headed nails.

How about a pretty women's necklace for our summer vacations? Totally regressive with its ceramicfish beads and daisy-like flowers, this necklace with charms will be with you all summer long. This cord necklace is part of our new jewelry collection called La plage, a collection of colorful jewelry perfect for summer, whether you're by the sea, the pool or at a festival.
This tutorial is very simple to make and accessible to all designers, even beginners. The idea is to make your own charms (one of this summer's trends) and attach them to a braided cord. It's so easy! Simply slip pearls onto the shank of a jewelry nail and finish with a loop, to make personalized charms. And there's no method here: just let your imagination and creativity run wild.
This charm necklace is infinitely customizable, thanks to the many colors and shapes of ceramic beads, natural stone beads, braided cotton threads and toupee beads you'll find on our site.
To close my charm necklace, again, no problem: I chose to use a clasp already fitted with lace clips. No need to add rings to attach it to the cord, just fold the sides of the lace clips over with your jewelry pliers and you're done.
As for the length of your DIY jewel, the choice is yours too! Adapt the length to your own body shape and desires. The best way is to test it directly on yourself to find the ideal length!

Start by creating your charms using the various beads and round-headed nails. Mix the beads as you like, but you can also use the photo as a guide. For the fish beads (not in the photo), use the flat-headed nails.

Use loop pliers to form the loops of the charms. If you don't have the pliers, use round-tipped pliers.
See our video"Forming a loop on a jewelry nail".

Then cut your cord to the desired length. Take one side of the lace clamp and close it over the cord: place the end of the cord in the lace clamp and hold it in place with a pair of pliers. For a better hold, let the cord protrude slightly to hold it with the pliers.

With the other hand, take a pair of flat-nose pliers and fold the sides together.

Then thread the beads through the cord. If necessary, use a beading needle to make it easier if the cord unravels. Pass the cord through the needle, then the needle with the cord through the bead.

Continue stringing beads and charms. Here I've strung them in the following order: 1 gold flower pearl, 3 charms, 1 gold flower pearl, 2 charms, 1 gold flower pearl, 3 charms, 1 gold flower pearl, 2 charms, 1 gold flower pearl, 3 charms, 1 gold flower pearl.
Be careful to tighten the loop around the cord so that they don't slip too much and all gather in the middle of the necklace.

To finish your necklace, close the second clamp on the cord as in steps 3 and 4.
