Prepare your materials, and cut a metre of thread. Thread the thread through the needle and string eight beads. These eight beads will form the first and second strands.
We're now going to form the 3rd row (and the first and second at the same time). To do this, thread a bead onto your needle, and iron in the penultimate bead you've just threaded.
To rethread, you take a new bead, leave the bead closest to the needle on the thread and thread through the one before. If you place the beads correctly, you'll get a triangle.
Repeat this step: leaving one bead aside, thread the needle with a new bead through the next bead.
Continue this process to form a third strand (four new beads in all).
For the following rows, we'll change the weaving direction with each new row. Proceed as follows:
Change direction: For each new row, alternate the weaving direction. If you finished the previous row from bottom to top, start the next one from top to bottom, and vice versa.
Adding beads: For each row, thread a new bead onto your needle and pass the needle through the last bead of the previous row to integrate the new bead into the weave.
Repeat the action of adding a bead and passing it through the last bead of the previous row four times in succession for each row.
For this weave, there will be a total of 20 rows.
Once the weaving is complete, wedge and cut the threads.
For the bangs, mix beads of different colors in a container.
Cut 1 metre of sewing thread and wedge it into the weave. Once you've secured the thread, you'll need to start forming the bangs at one end of the weave (in a corner).
Thread 25 beads and form the fringe by passing the needle through all but the last bead of the fringe.
Don't forget to pass the needle through the pink bead at the end of the last row of your weave. This connects the fringe to the main body of the weave.
Move the needle to pass through the adjacent pink bead, preparing the thread for the next fringe.
Continue adding fringe using the same process, and lock the thread into the weave.
Fix the ear stud with Araldite crystal glue and allow to dry according to the glue instructions.
