How to knit a cactus pattern?

How to use an automatic knitting machine?

If you're looking to decorate with the latest trendy patterns, in this tutorial, Catherine from the blog Lili joue maman bricole, shows you how to make a cactus pattern using an automatic knitting machine.

What is a knitting machine?

It's a machine that allows you to knit yarn easily without knowing how to knit! It's made up of a central tube containing 4 hooks on which to hang a thread of wool. On the outside is a crank handle. As you turn it, a knitted cord is created before your very eyes.

With an automatic knitting machine, you can create jewelry and wall decorations, as well as customize a sweater or cushion. It's up to you to create what you want!

STEP 1

On a sheet of paper, draw a cactus. This will serve as a template.

To determine the required length, place a piece of wool around the cactus and cut it.

STEP 2

Make a knitted cord using the same length of knitting yarn as you cut off previously, leaving a few extra centimetres for the margin.

Hook the wire ends together and tie the ends of the knitted cord around them. If there's too much knitting left over, remove a little and stop the stitches.

Make a pom-pom and attach it to the cactus.
