Cut 1m50 of thread and pass it over the first needle.
Whether it's Valentine's Day, Friendship Day, Mother's Day or a birthday, any occasion is a good opportunity to give a handmade gift to that special person in your life. A heart bracelet made with SuperDuo beads and Miyuki seed beads is both a charming and personal gift. This tutorial shows you a beaded bracelet design that you can customize to your heart's content. You'll need SuperDuo beads, Miyuki seed beads, beading thread, a needle and a clasp. Make sure you select good-quality materials to guarantee the bracelet's durability. In particular, if you're using Miyuki beads that are galvanized, i.e. metallized, choose those with the term Duracoat in the title. This means they are varnished by the manufacturer. This way, the metallic coating will remain intact over the years. In addition, clasps made of stainless steel or gold filled (laminated gold) are highly resistant to oxidation.
SuperDuo pearls and Miyuki seed beads are available in dozens or even hundreds of different colors. SuperDuo beads, from the Czech Republic, are renowned for their quality and uniformity. Their double holes allow you to create more or less complex designs, as you wish. Miyuki seed beads, on the other hand, are renowned for their regular size and wide range of colors. By combining these two types of beads, you can create a personalized heart bracelet perfect for Valentine's Day.
For a Valentine's Day bracelet, the traditional colors are red, pink and white. However, feel free to choose colors that match the preferences of the person who will receive the bracelet. An all-gold bracelet will also be very pretty, and will go perfectly with this pair of earrings: Miyuki golden seed bead drop earrings and Micro Spacers. What's more, these earrings also use Micro Spacers beads.
Would you like to make a pearl heart bracelet without SuperDuo? Here's another pearl heart bracelet with seed beads and mother-of-pearl beads.
The model in the video is approx. 17 cm long. For this size, only one bag of Micro Spacers is needed, but we've listed 2 just in case. Adjust the quantities as necessary. A 17 cm bracelet fits a 15 cm wrist.
Cut 1m50 of thread and pass it over the first needle.
Thread 2 seed beads 11/0 and the spring clasp which has a closed ring.
Thread 3 seed beads 11/0 and iron through the beads and clasp to make a loop.
Check that the clasp is positioned correctly in the middle, keeping the same length of thread on both sides.
Place another needle on the other end of the thread, and with this new needle, you will also pass through the third bead. As a result, the threads will cross inside.
Thread the SuperDuo beads to form a heart.
Take the needle connected to the bottom thread, and thread a 15/0 seed bead. Make a loop on the bottom of the SuperDuo beads. Pull. This tightens the two SuperDuos at the bottom, and add a small seed bead.
Thread 1 spacer, 1 PureCrystal round, and 1 other spacer, and pass both threads through.
Continue the same sequence on the bracelet. Remember to tighten well.
Thread a gold 11/0 seed bead and cross the other needle inside. Thread 2 11/0 seed beads, the small fastener, 2 other seed beads, and thread through the first bead to form a loop.
Pass through the beads several times to secure the loop.
Tie a small double knot when the two threads meet at the loop.
To hide the wires, go back through the rockery near the heart. Then return to the SuperDuo and bead chain to pass the thread through the beads. Cut off excess thread.
Repeat with the other thread.
