Prepare 158 Half Tila beads, 2 meters of Fireline thread and a stop bead. Attach the stop bead about 15 cm from the end of the thread by passing the needle through the bead 3 times, always in the same direction.

Our creative partner Mariette B. offers you this tutorial to learn how to make a miyuki half tila bead necklace. You'll find all Mariette's detailed steps in the downloadable pdf below. As Mariette is very creative, she offers you this necklace in several color variations, which you can see in one of the photos below:
For the latter version, Mariette has added an extra chevron line that doesn't appear in the pdf tutorial. But don't worry, it's the same technique for each row of the necklace. So you can customize your necklace by adding or reducing the number of rows. You'll find all the references for making the holiday necklace in the materials list at the bottom of the page, and all the references for the black and gold necklace.
Prepare 158 Half Tila beads, 2 meters of Fireline thread and a stop bead. Attach the stop bead about 15 cm from the end of the thread by passing the needle through the bead 3 times, always in the same direction.
Thread 1 rocaille + 1 black Half Tila + 1 rocaille + the clasp from which you have removed the ring.
Reverse through the last rockery. Tighten well.
Thread 3 rocailles and pass the needle through the free hole in the Half Tila from the previous step.
Thread 1 rocaille + 1 Half Tila then pass the needle through the very first rocaille of the weave.
Turn the weave over to make the next row. Thread 2 rocailles, then pass the needle through the free
hole of the last Half Tila in place.
Thread 1 rocaille + 1 Half Tila, pass the needle through the next rocaille (on the opposite side). Turn the weave over to make the next row. Pull the weave tight. With the Fireline, you can pull hard enough to tighten the weave. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until
you have a necklace of 80 beads. Finish with 2 rocailles.
Finish the start of the necklace: remove the stop bead. Thread the needle over the 15 cm of thread at the beginning. Zigzag the thread through the pearls, ironing it into the clasp as shown in the photo series (see pdf). Continue zigzagging through the beads until your thread is too short. You can use a shorter needle at the end to avoid having to re-thread the needle too often.
To make the angle of the V-necklace, put the needle back on the thread at the other end.
Thread 2 beads, then pass the needle through the next bead.
Thread 1 Half Tila + 3 rocailles and bring them as far down the thread as possible. Pass the needle through the free hole in the Half Tila, then through the next rockery in the necklace. That's it, you've made your turn. Next, the weaving is a little different. Personally, I find it less comfortable to do, but you can't do it any other way without a join.
To consolidate the inner point of the V, I suggest you pass a thread around the central bead as shown in the series of photos (see pdf). You'll emerge in exactly the same bead as at the end of step 10.
Thread 1 Half Tila + 3 rocailles and bring them as far down the thread as possible. Pass the needle through the free hole in the Half Tila, then through the next rocailles in the necklace.
Do the same with the next row. Do the same with the remaining 73 Half Tila beads, i.e. all but one. Tighten well between each step.
When you have only one Half Tila left, thread 1 Half Tila + 4 beads + the chain and pass the needle back through the last bead in the opposite direction. Tighten well.
Pass the needle through the free hole in the last Half Tila and the next 3 rocailles.
Finish the second end in exactly the same way as the first: zigzag the thread through the beads, passing it back through the clasp. When weaving Crystal Marea beads, here's what I mean by "take the bead right side up": this is the top configuration in the following photo (short needle). Put the pearl with the shiny side up and thread it onto the needle through the hole closest to you. For "reverse" threading, place the bead with the transparent side up and thread it onto the needle through the hole closest to you.
Admire your work, even if it's only a beginning. The next three necklaces are not woven
separately and then assembled, but directly onto the previous necklace. So there's
no assembly at the end.
For the 2nd necklace, prepare 78 Half Tila Crystal Marea beads, 1.20 meters of Fireline thread and a stop bead.
Fix the stop bead about 15 cm from the end of the thread by passing the needle 3 times through the bead
always in the same direction.
Thread 1 rocaille + 1 Half Tila inside out + 2 rocailles then pass the needle through the rocaille on the edge of the 22nd Half Tila of the first necklace (22nd Half Tila from the clasp).
Pass the needle through the free hole in the last Half Tila.
Thread 1 rocaille + 1 Half Tila right side up, then pass the needle through the next rocaille.
Thread 2 rocailles and pass the needle through the free hole in the last Half Tila. Tighten securely.
Thread 1 rocaille + 1 Half Tila inside out and pass the needle through the next rocaille.
Thread 1 bead and pass the needle through the bead on the edge of the next Half Tila of the 1st necklace. Continue, repeating steps 3 to 7, until you have reached the V of the first necklace.
Thread 2 rocailles and pass the needle through the free hole in the last Half Tila.
Thread 1 rocaille + 1 Half Tila right side up, then pass the needle through the next rocaille.
Thread 2 rocailles and pass the needle through the free hole in the last Half Tila.
Thread 2 rocaille and pass the needle through the next rocaille.
Thread a Half Tila right side up + 3 rocailles. Bring them down onto the thread. Pass the needle through the free hole in the Half Tila, then through the bead on the inside point of the second collar.
Thread 1 Half Tila inside out and pass the needle through the rockery at the bottom left of the first collar.
String 2 rocailles and pass the needle through the free hole in the Half Tila and the next rocailles. Continue, repeating steps 12 to 14, until you run out of beads. Stop the threads at the beginning and end of the 2nd necklace as before, zigzagging the
thread into beads.
To weave the third necklace, use 58 Half Tila, 85 cm thread and one
stop bead. Start the join not at the 22nd bead but at the 7th bead of the previous necklace.
To weave the fourth necklace, use 38 Half Tila, a 70 cm thread and a
bead. Start the join at the 7th bead of the previous necklace.
