Weave the pink-framed beads to create the base of the Brick Stitch. Then make a succession of decreases to weave the lower part of the earring.

The Miyuki Russian leaf is a classic pearl weave earring design. The technique consists in using Brick stitch to weave a "V" or chevron of pearls. Once this part has been woven, the two peaks are brought together to create a 3D effect very easily. There's nothing complicated about this technique, but it's a good idea to know how to Brick Stitch before embarking on this tutorial, as we won't be covering the basics here. Here's a similar tutorial to help you learn Brick Stitch: Brick Stitch Miyuki Herringbone Earrings tutorial. In this tutorial, the chevron is woven and worn the other way round, but the shape is very similar.
These earrings are from a 2017 Miyuki weaving kit released as a limited edition. This was the "Dreamcatcher" kit. In this kit, there was also a bracelet that you really liked and that many of you wanted to make again in different colors. It's the Miyuki dream-catcher cuff, which you can also find on the site. In this video tutorial, you'll learn how to make a clasp using only pearls.
You can customize this model with other colors of Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads. We've added another color combination idea at the bottom of the page in the variation section, as well as the silver version of the gold elements and laminated gold ear hooks if you'd like more durable ear hooks.

Weave the pink-framed beads to create the base of the Brick Stitch. Then make a succession of decreases to weave the lower part of the earring.

To add the gold bead to the tip, thread a single bead, pass the needle under the thread connecting the two beads from the previous row and then up through the gold bead. Then pass the thread on the other side of the golden bead back into the weave to prevent the bead from tilting to one side.

Pass the thread through the weave to return to the bead line at the beginning. Start weaving one side of the chevron. You'll need to use decreases and increases. You'll then return to this framed bead line when you've finished the first side in order to make the second side.

Once the last bead on the branch has been woven, thread a square faceted bead through the top of the last bead on the other branch.

Pass through the two beads of the penultimate row to reach the last bead of the branch.

Pass through the square faceted bead, then thread 6 15/0 seed beads. Pass through the square bead again, then through the first 3 seed beads. Thread 1 seed bead, 1 Chalkwhite Bohemian facet, 1 seed bead, then pass through a 3 mm closed ring. Thread through the rocaille, the bohemian facet, the other rocaille, then through the last 3 rocailles and back into the weave to catch the thread and cut. Open the ear hook ring and slip the closed ring into it before closing it again.
