Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair

How to finish a bracelet in Peyote Impair?

This Miyuki beaded bracelet is perfect if you want to practice the odd Peyote weave. It's made up of just 3 colors of Miyuki beads: black, white and silver. These are the basic bead colors to have in your stock. The silver pearls are in the"duracoat" version. The term "duracoat" means that the manufacturer, Miyuki, has applied an industrial varnish to these pearls, which guarantees them great durability. Indeed, Miyuki Delica beads with a metallic finish tend to lose their metallic appearance very quickly, but with the duracoat varnish, they will last for many years. Find here all Miyuki Delica metallic beads with a duracoat finish. You can also make this bracelet in gold. Beads and primers can be found at the bottom of the page in the variation section.

This Miyuki bracelet chart comes from the Japanese star kit, released by Perles & Co in a limited edition in 2017. From now on, this weaving chart is available to you as a free download. Simply download it, then get started by following the various steps. See also the other models in this kit that you can make with the same beads:

This bead-weaving tutorial shows you a way to add a clasp to your weaving using a cabled-wire protector. Originally, it was a ring, but by using a cord protector and fireline wire to attach the clasp, the bracelet will be even stronger. Usually, the weaving tutorials on our site are made with soft Miyuki beading thread, but as fireline thread is recommended for attaching the clasp, we've only included fireline thread in the list of materials. You can use this thread for your bead weaving, but your weave will be a little stiffer than usual. If you already have Miyuki thread in stock, there's nothing to stop you weaving with Miyuki and finishing with fireline.

This geometrically patterned pearl bracelet is perfect for a simple outfit like jeans and a black top. A white shirt or a little black dress will also match the bracelet's style perfectly, but it's up to you to adapt this bracelet to your own style. You could, for example, replace the black with navy blue and the white with light blue.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 1

Cut 1.7 m of thread and thread it onto the needle. This length of thread will not be sufficient for the entire weave. In bead needle weaving, you cut a length of thread that you're comfortable weaving with, and pick up a new one when the first one runs out. This is called "thread arm length", because the ideal length is the length of your arms. So you don't use a single thread for the whole weave, and that goes for all the tutorials of this type you'll come across.

As the cuff is symmetrical, you'll start weaving from the middle so you don't need the pattern for the other side of the weave. This corresponds to row 88 on the diagram. Thread rows 88 and 87 in sequence.

Step 2
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 2

Let's start with row 86. Thread a new black bead and pass the needle through the silver bead. Tighten and position the two beads side by side.

Step 3
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 3

Continue weaving the beads of row 86 to form the "crenellations" of the peyote weave: thread a silver bead through the second black bead of the previous rows. Tighten and position the silver and black beads side by side. Add a black bead and thread through the black bead from the beginning and tighten. Continue weaving the third and exit through the white bead at the end of the first row.

Step 4
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 4

Continue weaving row 3 with a white bead. Come out through the white bead at the end of the first row. Thread a black bead and weave back through the white bead at the end of the row.

Step 5
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 5

Return to the black bead and start weaving row 85, filling in the spaces created by weaving the first three rows. Beads are in order: black, white, silver, black.

Step 6
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 6

At the end of row 85, thread a silver bead to start row 84 and pass through the last black bead of row 85. Continue to complete row 84. At the end of row 84, repeat steps 4 and 5 to attach the last bead of the row. This row change takes place every other row in the odd weave, so always on the same side.

Step 7
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 7

To begin the decrease, attach the last white bead of row 4 by passing the needle behind the thread linking the white and silver beads of the previous two rows, as shown in the diagram. Then return to the white bead and start weaving row 3.

Step 8
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 8

Repeat step 7 to attach the last bead of row 3. All that's left is to add the only bead from row 2.

Step 9
Miyuki black and silver bracelet in Peyote Impair : Step 9

Keep at least 15 cm of wire at the end to attach a wire guard. Once the end bead is attached, thread through the silver bead next to it, then the one below. You can then return to the white bead at the end. Pass the needle through the wire guard and back into the bead from the opposite side. Do this 3 times, then catch the thread in the weave and cut it off. Then attach the clasp and extension chain with open rings.

Bonjour,
