In this tutorial, you'll learn how to weave a ring using Arcos © and Minos © beads , superduo and PureCrystal crystals.
As a fan of Czech glass beads, you'll love weaving this ring, which you can wear with the cuff bracelet made in the same style.
Many thanks to Monica for this tutorial.
STEP 1
Take 1 Seed beads 8 and 1 Superduo, repeat this step 3 times, form a circle and secure your thread. Our wire comes out of the top hole of the Superduo.
STEP 2
Take 1 Seed beads 11 and 1 Arcos.
STEP 3
a) Go to the bottom of the Arcos hole.
b) Sew in Seed beads 8.
c) Return to the Arcos hole.
d) Sew down the next Arcos hole.
e) Take 1 Seed bead 11 and pass through the next Superduo. Repeat these movements 3 times.
STEP 4
a) This is our complete circle. Our thread comes out of Seed beads 11.
b) Take 1 Seed bead 11, 1 Superduo, 1 Seed bead 11, form a circle and sew through Seed bead 11 and the top hole of the Superduo.
c) Starting at the bottom, work backwards through the following beads: Superduo, Seed beads 8, Superduo.
d) Pass through the top hole of the superduo, back and through the top hole of the superduo and Seed beads 11. Our thread comes out of Seed beads 11 (see photo below).
STEP 5
Go from the top into the superduo and Seed beads 11 and repeat the previous movements, until you form the circle.
STEP 6
a) This is our complete circle. Our next starting point is going to be the top hole of the Superduo bead ( which was added in our previous step), therefore you need to climb into 2 Seed beads 11.
b) Pass through the lower hole of the Superduo (added in step 5).
c) Return to the top hole of the superduo (added in step 5).
STEP 7
a) Take 1 Seed bead 11, 1 minos, 1 Seed bead 11 and pass through the next superduo bead. Repeat this 3 times. Before closing your circle, place your cabochon in its setting.
Solidify this circle several times.
b) These are our completed elements. You can create as many elements as you need.
STEP 8
a) Our thread comes out of the arcos.
b) Take 1 Seed beads 15, 1 Trefoil, 1 Seed beads 15, sew in the next arcos.
c) Pass through the middle of the hole in the arcos, then sew into the outer hole in the arcos. Repeat these movements 3 times.
STEP 9
a) You should obtain the following result. Note that our thread comes out of Seed beads 15.
b) Take 8 Seed beads 15, sew into the next Seed bead 15.
c) Go from the bottom through the arcos.
STEP 10
a) This is our finished circle. Note that our thread comes out of the 9th Seed bead 15.
b) Take 4 Seed beads 15 and pass through the following beads: 1 Seed bead 11, 1 Superduo, 1 Seed bead 11.
STEP 11
a) Take 4 Seed beads 15 and sew into the second seed bead 15.
b) Pass through all the Seed beads 15, starting from the bottom through the arcos.
c) Pass through the hole in the arcos and repeat this movement 3 more times.
d) You should have this at the end.
STEP 12
a) This last step will allow us to create the ring.
Our thread comes out of Seed beads 8 (green circle in the diagram below). Take 6 Seed beads 11 and form a circle. To do this, sew into Seed bead 8 and pass through 1 superduo, 1 Seed bead 8 as shown in the diagram below.
The thread now comes out of the 4th seed bead. Now take 6 Seed beads 11 and form a circle again (shown in blue in the diagram). Repeat this step until you have the desired length, adapted to your finger size.
When you have the desired length, you can weave along the outer line of the ring, then take out the second Seed bead and add 1 Seed bead 11/0 (shown in red in the diagram) to each space between the second Seed bead 11/0 and the first Seed bead 11/0. every gap between the second Seed bead 11/0, except for the gap between the first and second element and between the last and penultimate element (cf. free space in the diagram below).
b) Take 6 Seed beads 11, sew into Seed bead 8 and pass through the next superduo and Seed bead 8. Solidify this circle once more.
c) Our thread comes out of the fourth Seed beads 11.
d) Take 6 Seed beads 11 and sew into the third and fourth Seed beads 11. Solidify this circle 1 more time. Continue until you reach the desired length.
e) To fill in the gaps, follow these steps:
Your thread comes out of Seed beads 11 on the second element. (You need to skip the "gap/hole" in the first element).
f) Next, take 1 Seed bead 11, sew in the next 2 Seed beads 11. Continue until you've filled all your gaps.
g) Here's our completed ring from above.
Here's a profile view.
We'd love to see your version of this ring..so feel free to send us photos on Facebook or by email, it might inspire others.
PLEASE NOTE : In the hardware list below, we've changed some of the finishes (so the references don't match the illustrative photos in this tutorial, but give a similar rendering).
