Are you a fan of Scandinavian decor and houseplants (succulents, cacti, or green plants)? Give this quick and easy DIY tutorial a try to make an elegant brass plant hanger.
Inspired by the traditional Nordic art of Himmeli (a geometric hanging structure of Finnish origin), this creation adds a golden, modern, and graphic touch to your home. Using brass tubes, sturdy wire, and a personalized pot with chalk-effect paint, you can create a sturdy yet lightweight hanging planter in just a few simple steps. These are pyramid-shaped mobiles—sometimes quite complex—made from straws or tubes suspended from the ceiling. The tubes are cut and connected to one another with wire.
In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to make a hanging planter for your plants, but these brass tubes can also be used to create an original jewelry holder. It’s up to you to let your imagination run wild!

Take 6 tubes, set 3 aside, and cut the rest into 10-cm segments; you'll end up with 9 of them.

Use your circular cutter to cut your brass segments. First, mark your cutting measurements with a marker, then place the bar in the groove designed to hold the tube. Screw on the knob, but don’t tighten it all the way so you can rotate the cutter around the tube; gradually tighten it until the tube is cut.

Cut 3 lengths of wire, each about 2 meters long. Thread one of the wires through 3 tubes to form our triangular base.

Thread one of the two strands back through the next tube to close the triangle.

Thread the other two strands through the two tubes of the triangle, placing one strand in each tube. There should be two strands coming out of each end of the triangle.

Tie a knot with the two strands sticking out.

Thread a tube through each wire.

Tie the strings together.

Thread the 3 uncut tubes onto each of the strings. Tie a knot to secure everything.

Customize your flower pot with chalk-effect paint. Once it's dry, you can apply temporary tattoos, which will look just as good on the painted pot.
