Learn how to create beautiful lilies and daisies out of beads using the French Beading technique. This method allows you to create surprisingly lifelike flowers using seed beads and metal wire. Perfect for arranging a timeless bouquet, decorating your home, or giving a handmade gift, these creations will retain their luster for years to come.
In this video, we’ll guide you step by step through the process of making two iconic flowers: the lily and the daisy. You’ll learn how to shape the petals, create a harmonious center, assemble each element, and add volume to your flowers for a natural-looking result. Whether you’re new to French Beading or looking to expand your collection of beaded flowers, this tutorial is accessible to all DIY enthusiasts.
To make these flowers, you’ll need Miyuki and Preciosa seed beads, copper wire, floral stems, and floral tape to achieve a neat finish. Feel free to customize the colors to create classic lilies, vibrant daisies, or more original designs to suit your tastes and decor.
This video is suitable for both beginners just learning the technique and more experienced beaders looking for new designs. Allow two hours for the daisy, and much longer for the lily, which has more intricate petals.
Let yourself be inspired and create delicate flowers that will add a touch of poetry to your home or floral arrangements.
Please note: The materials listed at the bottom of this page correspond to the quantities needed to make 2 fleur-de-lis and 3 daisies. You’ll have enough beads left over to make 3 additional daisies. However, if you’d like to make more fleur-de-lis, you’ll need to purchase additional beads.
You’ll also find, in the “Variations” section, the different bead colors we used to make the other daisies featured in the video. This way, you can recreate these designs or come up with your own color combinations.
