How to make natural stone earrings?
The assembly of jewels is an activity within the reach of all. It requires a bit of precision, but with practice you will become more and more skilled and quicker to perform gestures such as opening and closing a ring, forming a loop on a nail and many other basic gestures in jewelry creation that you can find in video in our toolbox.
You will also need a set of 3 jewelry pliers for most of the tutorials. These are a round pliers, a cutting pliers and a flat pliers. Here, 2 will suffice. You will need a round-tipped jewelry pliers and a flat or angled pliers to open the joining rings. You can either buy them in a kit, with a pouch, or separately.
Then, choose your gemstone sequin. There are about ten different stones: Malachite, Onyx, Howlite, Aventurine, Tiger eye, etc. You can find a selection of these stones in the list of materials at the bottom of this page. You can take 12x10 mm or 8x10 mm sequins.
Once you have your tools and your material to create your earrings, just start! You have only one thing to do: open the ring, slide in the natural stone sequin, the half-sun charm and the ear stud ring. Check that everything is in the right direction before closing the ring by rotating the two ends with the two pliers. Go back and forth a few times until the two ends touch perfectly. Your curls are finished! Easy, right?
Are you planning to make several of these to give as DIY gifts to others? The ear studs used in this tutorial are also available in a semi-bulk pack to make 10 pairs of earrings. This product is also given at the bottom of the page in the variation section. Rather want to start selling jewelry as a self-employed entrepreneur?
