This free beading tutorial shows you how to weave beads around a ring to create earrings. This is an intermediate level technique, however it is accessible to beginners who have already made some bead weaving jewelry. You will need a little bit of skill and patience, but the technique is not complicated!
For this tutorial, we will use different types of beads: rocailles size 11/0 from Toho and Miyuki and delicas 11/0 from Miyuki too. You can use beads of different sizes, but keep the same type of bead on the same string. These beads all come in dozens or even hundreds of different colors, so feel free to check the corresponding categories.
The technique used here is the Brick Stitch technique. It is a needle weaving technique. It can also be used without a metal hoop to make a straight bracelet or geometric earrings as in this tutorial: Weaving gridMiyuki pastel earrings in Brick Stitch.
It is called the brick stitch because the beads are added one by one, in a staggered pattern, as if you were building a brick wall. To attach a bead, the wire connecting the two beads on the row below is used as a support, or the metal circle itself.

Glue the cabochons in the settings with jewellery glue. The cabochons are available in different colours. Leave them aside.

Cut a 1.5 m weaving thread and tie it with a double knot at the ring. Leave 15 cm of the thread end so that you can hide the thread end in the beads at the end. Thread two turquoise TOHO beads, place them against the inside of the ring and hold them in place with your finger. Pass the thread around the ring and back into the second bead. Tighten the weave.

Go back into the first bead, then into the second, following the pattern. This step allows you to bring the two beads together.

Thread a third bead, place it against the second bead and hold it in place with your finger. Pass the thread around the ring and back into the bead. Tighten. Weave each bead in the row one by one, repeating this step.

Once you have gone all the way around the ring, connect the last woven bead to the first.

You must have woven 46 TOHO 11/0 seed beads. If you use other beads, the number will be different.

To begin the second row of beads, thread two 11/0 delicas. Pass the needle under the thread connecting the last and the first bead of the row below and return to the second delicas. Tighten the weave well.

Weave the delicas one by one by passing the needle under the thread connecting the beads below and back into the bead. You need to attach 46 11/0 delicas. Connect the first and last beads of the row as described in step 5.

Now make a round of Miyuki 11/0 gold seed beads. You will need to attach 36 of them, as the circle gets smaller and the beads get larger. So sometimes you will have to "skip" the thread connecting the bottom beads and move on to the next one. Do this when the weave becomes too tight. The exact number of beads is not important, it just gives you an indication.

Now it's the turn of the 11/0 Mermaid delicas. Attach the same number of gold ones as well. You don't have to skip any wire this time.

This is the last row of 11/0 delicas. Adjust the number as best you can. We have indicated 34 beads but it may be more or less depending on how you weave.

Now attach the central part. To do this, pass through one of the rings in the spacer and back into the bead from which the thread exits. Pass through the next beads of the last row to position yourself to attach the next ring. Continue in this way until all the rings have been attached to the weave.

To finish, thread the thread through the weave beads several times to catch it and cut it off. Do the same with the remaining thread. Open the ear stud ring and pass it between the beads of the first row and close the ring.
