Weaving grid Miyuki pastel Brick Stitch earrings

How do I make a Brick Stitch increase?

Do you dream of creating delicate, colorful earrings that are light and easy to wear? This tutorial shows you how to make beautiful Miyuki Delica bead earrings in soft pastel tones, using the brick stitch technique. An ideal activity for bead weaving enthusiasts and beginners alike!

Brick stitch is an easy-to-master technique for weaving regular, elegant geometric patterns. Thanks to the grid provided, you can follow the rows step by step to create light, modern shapes, perfect for accessorizing your spring or summer outfits.

This model features an on-trend pastel color palette and a gold finish with a small ring that makes it easy to mount the earrings on hooks or earstuds.

In this tutorial, you'll find :

  • A clear, easy-to-follow weaving chart,
  • precise references for the Miyuki Delica beads used,
  • Tips on how to get off to a good start and ensure good thread tension.

Tip: start with a fine nylon thread and a special bead needle for smooth, precise work. And don't hesitate to adapt the colors to your style!

This geometric shape, to be woven with Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads, can also be transformed into earrings or a bracelet. To turn it into a bracelet, attach a closed ring, chain link or wire guard to each of the beads at the ends. You can also use other beads, such as classic Seed beads, but it's best to use beads that are all the same size and shape.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Weaving grid Miyuki pastel Brick Stitch earrings : Step 1

Cut 1.5 m of weaving thread and thread it through a needle. Thread a yellow and a pink bead and then thread a second time through the first yellow bead. The two beads are placed side by side. Place them 10 cm from the end of the thread.

Step 2

Step 7

Pass through the first light turquoise bead, back through the second and tighten the thread. Steps 6 and 7 are what we call a Brick Stitch decrease.

Step 8

Thread a third yellow bead, pass the needle under the thread connecting the next beads on row 1 and turn in the yellow bead. This is the Brick Stitch technique. Continue to attach the beads following the pattern.

Step 9

Thread a light turquoise bead and a turquoise bead. Pass the needle under the thread connecting the last two beads of the front row and return to the turquoise bead you just threaded. You have just made a Brick Stitch increase.

Step 10

There is another bead to add on the left. Follow the direction of the arrows to add this light turquoise bead and return to the turquoise.

Step 11

Weave the rest of the row and repeat steps 3 and 4 to add the other two light turquoise beads. Continue weaving again following the pattern.

Step 12

Step 13
Weaving grid Miyuki pastel Brick Stitch earrings : Step 13

Step 14
