Cut 50 cm of thread. Thread the beads on top. Don't forget to thread the alphabet beads in the centre with your message.

Here is an easy DIY gift idea for men. A child of 6 or 7 years old will be able to make it easily, but always under the supervision of an adult, especially for the finishing which will have to be done by an adult, because it consists in burning the threads with a lighter or a thread burner. Of course, this tutorial is not reserved for children! Alphabet beads are making a comeback in fashion and will be ultra trendy this summer. It's the perfect unisex gift to get your message across to your family or friends. Plus, it's super easy to make and you don't need any special tools except for a lighter to burn the threads at the end.
Another good thing is that you don't need to know exactly how big your dad' s wrist is and thus spoil the surprise, because the slip knot shown in the tutorial makes an adjustable bracelet. Just try to estimate whether he has a thin, medium or wide wrist. A man's wrist measures between 15 and 19 cm as a general rule.
Find the list of materials at the bottom of the page. You don't like the colors used in this tutorial? Choose your beads and thread:
Take a pair of scissors, a ruler and a lighter. You are now ready to make the bracelet that she will like!

Cut 50 cm of thread. Thread the beads on top. Don't forget to thread the alphabet beads in the centre with your message.

Center the beads on the wire and cut a new piece of wire of 15 cm. Cross the two ends of the bracelet wire and tie the new piece of wire on top, centering it.

We will now make what is called an alternate overhand knot or more commonly a macramé knot with the new piece of yarn. Pass the top thread under the two bracelet threads and then the bottom thread under the top thread that has been lowered, over the two bracelet threads and through the loop formed by the top thread. Tighten the knot.

Do exactly the same thing but reverse the wires. The bottom one will go under the bracelet wires, the top one will go under the bottom wire, over the bracelet wires and through the loop formed by the bottom wire. Repeat steps 3 and 4 two more times each.

Carry out this step in a ventilated room. Cut the ends of the wire about 3 mm from the last knot and burn them, being very careful as the wire can catch fire. If it does, blow on it to put it out. You must melt the wire until it reaches the knot. The goal is to make it fuse with the knot so that it doesn't come apart again.

Add a bead to the wire ends of the bracelet and secure them with knots on both sides. You can also melt the wire end.
