Fashion is an eternal restart, that's why we propose you today a return to the 80's and their iconic earrings: geometrical shapes and flashy colors. Make large rectangular pearl earrings with our video tutorial. Choose from a hundred different colors of seed beads and create original DIY earrings.
The principle of this tutorial is very simple. All you have to do is wrap a wire filled with pearls around a rectangle pendant and then fill in the corners with pearls. To do this, you will have to fix them by passing in the beads already fixed on the rectangle. You must also use small beads so that there are as few holes as possible. Indeed, the more you will take big beads and the more you will see the spacer underneath. That's why we chose Miyuki 15/0 seed beads. 15/0 is the smallest bead size available. Also, for even more consistency, the rectangle has been painted with acrylic paint in the same color as the beads. Also choose a wire that matches the color of your beads.
For the ear studs we chose a simple golden ball shape, but there are ear studs with more original shapes that will give even more charm to your earrings. For example clous d'oreilles dorés en forme de fleur or clous d'oreilles en forme de coquillage.
Want an even simpler tutorial in the same style? Check out our tutorial boucles d'oreilles gouttes recouvertes de perles de rocailles. They will be faster and easier to make than the rectangle shape.
Normally one bag of seed beads should be enough to make a pair of earrings. But the quantity is very small so don't use too many beads for the first earring or buy two bags of beads.
