You might not be your first loom bracelet, but have you ever tried weaving anything other than seed beads or Delicas? At Perles and Co we try to do tests for you. Some time ago we tested to weave several very different types of pearls on the same weaving . Today we tried in this tutorial one of the latest trends in weaving: Mixing Miyuki pearls and shiny woven threads .
In this tutorial we do not show you in detail how to weave on a loom. If you are a beginner, we have made a video to explain this technique to you: How to make a woven bracelet with sliding knot?
The threads used in addition to the Miyuki weaving threads are ?Silkworm? threads which are composed of Cupro and Polyester. They come in different sizes and dozens of different colors. We used size 16 for the edges and size 4 for the weave inside the bracelet. This thread is also used for embroidery.
As for the interlayer in the center of the bracelet, it is an amethyst set in gilded 925 silver. It is available in different shapes and sizes and with different stones. Do not hesitate to take a look at our selection of gemstone spacers .
The clasp is a very good quality beadslide clasp which is very resistant to oxidation. It is also available in silver and in 24mm and 29mm. You can also use a Hiilos clasp which is a magnetic clasp that allows you to change the bracelet inside. So you only need one clasp for a multitude of bracelet. Then take the 20 mm tips and add another small weave, chain or braided cord because these tips are a little wider than necessary for this bracelet.
Turquoise and purple Miyuki weaving grid:

Step 1 :
Secure the threads to the loom. Two cords of size 16 shiny thread on the sides and 10 Miyuki weaving threads, preferably yellow or turquoise.

2nd step :
Weave the bracelet according to the diagram. Be careful to check the length of the bracelet that will be necessary. Measure your wrist, and weave the bracelet this length. The clasp will add the necessary margin so that the bracelet is not too tight. To give you an indication, 3 diamonds as in the photo made it possible to weave a bracelet without clasp of 13.9 mm which is very small. Add whole or half diamonds on each side to get the size you need. A whole diamond pattern is approximately 1 cm. Once this first part is woven, tie the thread with a double knot, hide it in the beads and cut it.

Step 3:
Cut 1m of size 4 golden thread and thread it on a large needle that goes through the miyuki. Tie the end to the loom and hide the end of the thread in the beads. Then pass the needle over and under the threads of the loom alternately and reverse on return.

Step 4:
Make at least 3 round trips before tying your gold thread again and going back to weaving pearls by tying a new weaving thread.

Step 5:
Repeat step 3 and 4 to weave this time a weaving of golden threads 2 cm wide.

Step 6:
With the golden thread, sew the interlayer to the weaving, paying attention to the center. Sew it by passing the thread down and up the ring so that the seam is balanced.

Step 7:
You can tie the threads at the back and pass them through the weave. You will add a dab of glue to all the knots at the end of the weaving.

Step 8:
Finish the weaving and cut the threads keeping the maximum length. Tie them both in pairs with a double knot. Put a dab of glue on the knots and wait for it to dry. Cut the wires. close one of the tabs of the clasp on each side. Put some glue back on both sides of the weave before sliding them into the clasp.
