Here's a jewelry DIY for this summer that's sure to please. You won't spend more than an hour making this necklace yourself, perfect for adding that little bohemian touch to your outfit before that meal with family or friends this summer.
The gold chains that accompany this necklace come from the tutorial multirang satin gold star necklace and drop pendant.
This necklace is made up of flattened mother-of-pearl beads, Seed beads, golden brass beads and acai seed beads linked with a wired thread. Stranded wire is a very strong wire, perfect for both heavy and light designs with volume. Depending on its thickness and number of strands, it will be more or less rigid. See our data sheet on how to choose your wired wire for more information.
It's important to know how to finish your necklace with cabled wire, because if you don't do it right, you can weaken the wire at the clasp. There are wire protectors that can be added to the end of the wire to protect it from rubbing against the rings or clasp. You can also use either wire end caps or Crimp beads. These must be bent in half with a pair of crush bead pliers of the appropriate diameter. The wire that has been passed through the bead twice should be on both sides of the fold.
