This year, you want to have a personalized tree? Check out our Christmas tree decorating tutorial with painted and pyrographed wooden rounds. These hangers will be perfect if you have chosen a nature and wood theme. To make these wooden hangers, all you have to do is engrave a pretty design on the slice and paint around this engraving. You will finish by knotting a link with a cord to hang it on your Christmas tree. To be made with the whole family, children and adults alike can participate in the creation of these hangers: adults can use the pyrography tool and children can paint and thread the ties through the holes.
You can customize this tutorial to your own ideas! We used white acrylic for this time but we have a large choice of paint colors on our website. Also, you don't have to hang these wood slices on your tree, you can simply put them on your Christmas tree, to make place cards for example. In this case, you will not need to drill them.

Prepare your wood slices by rubbing an abrasive on the side of the slice you are going to decorate.
Drill your wooden washers with a drill and a drill bit of about 3 mm.
Draw a picture with a pencil.
Plug in your pyrography tool 5 minutes before you start so that it is warm. Choose a single tip to draw lines. Iron over your pencil lines.
Use white acrylic paint to contrast with the brown lines of the pyrographer.
Cut a small length from the spool of linen thread and make your own ties to hang your decorated rings on the Christmas tree.
