Material and advice:
In this example we have used a Sterling silver heart-shaped charm 21mm.
Metal punches, here we have chosen the Letter punch set 3mm Comic Lowerca.
A hammer.
You can also use a block of steel.
Step 1:
To punch your charm right, you can use scoth tape as a rule.
Step 2:
Position the punch near the adhesive tape.
Place your thumb on the marked side of the punch to be sure to punch the letter in the rignt sense.
Step 3:
Repeat the operation with the other letters.
You can leave it this way, or colour the inscription.
Step 4:
You will need to use a permanent marker.
Step 5:
Clean the excess of marker using a polishing cloth.
You can use these metal punches on the following bases:
- leather
- wood
- brass
- copper

Place the punch at the edge of the adhesive.
To make sure the letter is facing the right way:
place your thumb on the marked side and the letter will face the backing correctly.
Tap with a hammer (watch your fingers).

Repeat the same operation for the other letters.
And that's it, you have just personalised your charm.
You can leave it like this or you can highlight the letters using a marker, as explained in the following steps.

To make the inscription stand out, use a permanent marker. Remove the excess marker witha cleaning cloth.
