What is a zipper?
Also known as a rack and pinion fastener,zipper or pull fastener, a zipper is the generic name for a mechanical system that opens and closes quickly.

The zipper can be used toquickly open a garment or pocket, or to quickly separate two pieces of fabric.
The fastener is made up of 2 solid strips of fabric on which mechanical teeth are crimped.
The teeth are engaged or separated by means of a slider.
As for the pull tab, this is the tongue that guides the slider and allows it to move.

How to choose a zipper?
There are so many different models to choose from, it's easy to get lost, so what are your criteria?
- Material: for outdoor use, synthetic zippers are more resistant. For jeans, metal fasteners are ideal.
- Length Length: there's a plethora to choose from, and you can even buy cut to size if you wish. For an invisible closure, it's important to choose a zipper 2 cm longer than the length of your opening.
- Separable or non-separable A separable zipper can be used for a jacket, a hooded sweater, in fact any garment you want to open all the way, whereas a non-separable zipper can be used for a pants fly, a skirt, a dress, a pencil case, etc., since the zipper will be attached to the zipper.... since the zipper is attached at one end.
- The size of the teeth : this depends on the thickness of your fabric. As you can see, wider teeth are better for thicker fabrics, and vice versa for thinner fabrics.
Now you know everything, all you have to do is choose your color !
