Get inspired by the original shape of these mother-of-pearl drop beads to make a wide range of DIY costume jewelry.
What is mother-of-pearl?
Mother-of-pearl is the inner coating of certain shellfish. This iridescent layer is particularly appreciated for decoration, jewelry and buttons.
How to use this pearly pearl?
Make a pair of vintage earrings by adding your flat resin pearl to an ear stud. Be sure to use studs with heads (flat, ball, round, fancy) of a larger diameter than the pearl hole, i.e. greater than 2.4 mm. If you want to use a nail with a smaller diameter head, simply add a small pearl between the large pearl and the nail.
Divert your drop pearl and wear it as a pendant in a pearl necklace. To do this, hang it from a chain using a nail. Wear your new creation alone or in a stacking of necklaces.
