Stainless steel bayonet clasp for 5 mm cord
For greater safety.
The clip clasp, as it's known, is very practical, since it's very unlikely to come loose.
The stainless steel material makes this clasp a stable , hypoallergenic accessory.
Ideal for your leather bracelets and necklaces, it works equally well with any slightly stiff cord up to 5 mm in diameter.
You can also use several thin cords to reach this diameter, as in this leather cord bracelet tutorial.
This streamlined clasp will enable you to create both feminine and masculinejewelry , simple and uncluttered.
Take inspiration from some of our tutorials, such as this men's blue white red braided cord bracelet, and simply replace the clasp with this one.
Why stainless steel?
A good alternative to silver, stainless steel is, as its name suggests, rustproof, resistant and long-lasting; it doesn't erode or scratch. It's an alloy of iron, carbon, nickel and chromium.
Although stainless steel contains nickel particles, these are locked in the alloy and cannot be released. This is why stainless steel is an anti-allergenic metal that does not irritate the skin.
How do I clean stainless steel?
There are many ways to clean stainless steel:
Apply a mixture of hot water and baking soda with a cloth, then rinse.
Washing-up liquid also works.
Soak a cloth in lemon oil and wipe over your jewel.
